چکیده

This paper provides a passivity based framework to synthesise l 2 -stable digital control networks in which m strictly-output passive controllers can control n−m strictly-output passive plants. The communication between the plants and controllers can tolerate time varying delay and data dropouts. In particular, we introduce a power-junction-network, a general class of input-output-wave-variablenetwork which allows even a single controller (typically designed to control a single plant) to accurately control the output of multiple plants even if the corresponding dynamics of each plant is different. In addition to the power-junction-network we also introduce a Passive Downsampler (PDS) and Passive Upsampler (PUS) in order to further reduce networking traffic while maintaining stability and tracking properties. A detailed (soft real-time) set of examples shows the tracking performance of the networked control system. Copyright © 2011 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd. Control of Passive Plants with Memoryless Nonlinearities over Wireless Networks

by Nicholas E. Kottenstette This dissertation shows how to develop wireless networked embedded control systems (wnecs) in which the controller and the plant are isolated and can only interact over a wireless network. Many of the new results presented are based on passivity and scattering theory. In particular we show how to: 1. synthesize discrete time passive, strictly-input passive, and stric...

A constructive method is presented in which L2 -stability can be guaranteed for networked control of multiple passive plants in spite of random time varying delays and data dropouts. The passive plants are interfaced to a wave variable based passive sampler (PS) and passive hold (PH) which allows a passive digital control network to be constructed. A power junction is used to facilitate the int...

Digital Control Networks for Continuous Passive Plants Which Maintain Stability Using Cooperative Schedulers

This paper provides a sufficient framework to synthesize l-stable networks in which the controller and plant can be subject to delays and data dropouts. This framework can be applied to control systems which use “soft-real-time” cooperative schedulers as well as those which use wired and wireless network feedback. The framework applies to plants and controllers which are passive, therefore thes...

Design of Digital Control Networks for Continuous Passive Plants Subject To Delays and Data Dropouts

We present a framework to synthesize lm 2 -stable control networks which are subject to delays and data dropouts. This framework can be applied to control systems which use “soft-real-time” cooperative schedulers and wired or wireless network feedback. The approach applies to passive plants and controllers that can be either linear, nonlinear, and (or) time-varying. This framework is based on f...
